Rotorfolio

Rotorfolio

Watches before they are yours.

Support

Every watch app starts the day you buy it. Rotorfolio starts at the boutique visit and the waiting list.

Getting started

Tap + on the first screen and type a reference number — the code on the caseback or the papers, like IW389401 or 126710BLNR. Choose whether it goes into Collection, Waiting or Tried at the bottom of the sheet.

If the reference is not recognised, Add it manually is on the same screen. Nothing about the app depends on a watch being in the catalogue.

Common questions

Why don’t I see a picture of the watch?

Rotorfolio ships no manufacturer photography. Watches show a designed placeholder until you add a photograph of your own — tap the hero area on a watch’s page to take one.

Where are the price estimates?

There are none, deliberately. The app records what you paid, which is a fact. It will not guess what a watch is worth today.

How do I back up my collection?

Menu at the top left → Export collection…. That writes a JSON file to wherever you choose in Files. Import collection… reads it back and adds anything missing without overwriting what is already there.

How do I produce a document for my insurer?

Menu → Insurance schedule…. It lists what you own with prices, serial numbers and photographs, subtotalled per currency with nothing converted. The screen tells you what is missing before it makes the PDF.

How does accuracy tracking work?

Note how many seconds the watch is ahead or behind, whenever you notice. The rate is worked out between consecutive readings, so the second reading is where the first number appears. Tell it when you reset the watch and it starts a fresh measurement rather than reporting a wildly inaccurate one.

I sold a watch. Do I delete it?

No — mark it Gone. The wait, the photographs and the note are kept, and it drops off the insurance schedule automatically.

Privacy

Nothing you enter leaves your device. There is no account, no analytics and no server holding a copy. The full policy is also linked from About inside the app.

Contact

rotorfolio@alphabrew.org

Rotorfolio is a one-person app. There is no support desk and no ticket queue, but mail to that address is read.

If something is wrong, saying so in an App Store review also helps — it is read, and it is where fixes get prioritised from.
